What Are The Visible Signs of Aging Around The Eyes?
Are you losing the youthful glow of your eyes? As we age, we experience some changes in the appearance of the eyes. Age affects our eyesight as well as the way our eyes look. Apart from age, some other factors like harmful sun rays, wrong eye cream, and stress all contribute to the appearance of the eyes. In this column, we will share information about some of the visible changes you might experience around your eyes with the growing age. Let’s get started.
- Sagging
brows – The
collagen deposit under the brows vanishes with age. It separates the brow
from the brow bone causing skin wrinkles below the brow.
- Heavy
eyelids –This
is one of the most common signs of aging eyes. As we age, the upper eyelid
begins to droop over the eye, making the eyes look smaller. Sometimes, it
can also block the vision.
- Puffiness
– There
is a thin membrane that holds the fat pad around the eyes. But, with age,
this membrane weakens, and the bone around the eyes begins to
diminish. This results in hollowness and puffiness around the eyes.
- Under-eye
circles – This
is a common problem in younger as well as older people. Stress, improper
sleep, and sun exposure can cause this eye problem in youngsters. But in
elderly people, the reason for dark under-eye circles is the age factor. The
saggy skin and loss of collagen result in hollowness under the eyes,
making it look like dark circles.
